Seeking person for Street Laborer/Sewer Operator – Applications due Dec. 7, 2018

The Village of Muscoda is seeking a responsible person to fill the position of Street Laborer/Sewer Operator. This is a full-time position with paid time off, state retirement, and health, dental & life insurance benefits. This position requires weekend standby rotation and must be available before 7:00 a.m. and after 3:30 p.m. to assist with snow removal or other emergencies. Duties include but are not limited to: brush and compost pickup, snow removal, general park, pool and street maintenance, wastewater system maintenance, meter reading, assisting in all aspects of the public works department and as necessary work with in the utility departments and may be exposed to certain chemicals. This position will require schooling to obtain various certifications including sewer operator certifications within two years of employment. Physical requirements include but are not limited to: lift, reach, squat, bend, climb, sit, walk, read, write and hear. A complete background check will be done on selected applicants. The successful applicant will be drug and alcohol tested and should be in good physical and mental condition. A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License is required. A Commercial Driver’s License is required within six months of employment. The starting wage will be determined based on qualifications. Residency is not required, but must be able to respond within twenty minutes. Applications may be obtained at the Village Office, 206 N. Alternate Side Parking – Dec 1 – Mar 1

Alternate Side Parking begins on December 1st and runs through March 1st.

The Village of Muscoda wants to remind residents that Alternate Side Parking begins on December 1st and runs through March 1st. Ordinance 10-1-27 requires persons parking vehicles on Village streets to abide by Alternate Side Parking regulations EACH NIGHT between December 1st and March 1st.

Alternate Side Parking will be enforced between the hours of 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
Alternate Side Parking requires vehicles to be parked on the south and west sides of streets (usually odd numbered) on odd numbered dates and the north and east side of the streets (usually even numbered) on even numbered dates. Residents need to remember that the date during the overnight hours of 12:01 am to 6:00 am determines odd or even side parking. Owners of vehicles in violation of Alternate Side Parking regulations will be subject to a $20.00 parking ticket.

During a period of unusually severe winter weather, the Village may declare a Snow Removal Emergency. During a Snow Removal Emergency, parking is prohibited on all Village streets. Residents would be required to find off-street parking until snow-removal operations are declared completed by the Village Superintendent. Residents may use Village owned parking areas such as the lots by: Village Hall, Pierce’s Supermarket, Laundromat, Swimming Pool and Riverside Park. Violations of a snow removal emergency will result is a $20.00 ticket plus your vehicle being towed from the street at your expense. Snow Removal Emergencies are posted on the Village’s website, Village Hall, announced on WRCO and various locations in the Village.

Permanent Drug Drop Box

Thanks to donations from Universal Silencer, Richland Medical Center, Golden Living Center and Grant County a permanent drug drop box is now available in the Kratochwill Memorial Building (206 N Wisconsin Avenue) just outside of the Police Department Office.  Unused medications should be removed from container, placed in a baggie and dropped in.
